Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) is a ward/unit based role to support the work activities of nurses, medical staff and allied health staff, providing timely and accurate administrative/transactional services for members of the health care team under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). The CSO works closely with existing administrative staff at the ward/unit level. The CSO will work under supervision but will be required to take independent action and initiative. The CSO will be a member of the ward team to provide support to clinical staff in the provision of care to patients.

Selection Criteria:

  1. High level customer service skills with effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
  2. Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative
  3. Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem solving, formulating new approaches and implementing comprehensive change programs and improvement strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes
  4. Demonstrated experience in word processing, spread sheet and database software
  5. Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent within 12 months of employment.
