About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Support Officer to join our team and play a key role in supporting clinical trials. You will help ensure smooth operations, troubleshoot issues, manage trial specimens, and maintain data integrity. If you’re an organized, detail-oriented communicator with a passion for clinical research, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting support for clinical trials, specimen handling, and data entry across the Clinical Trials Unit (CPU) and SydPath.
  • Assist in the triaging, processing, and data entry of clinical trial specimens, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform daily data quality checks on sample requests and storage.
  • Communicate with clinical trial sites to confirm data, request results, and manage reports.
  • Manage PK/PD frozen sample storage and oversee shipments on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 15189 and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
  • Work a rotating roster, including afternoons and weekends, to support ongoing clinical trial needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Technical Qualifications: A qualification such as a Pathology Technician’s Certificate or Associate Diploma in Medical Technology, plus relevant experience in clinical or laboratory settings.
  • Clinical Trials Experience: Previous exposure to clinical trials and knowledge of the processes involved.
  • Sample Shipment Knowledge: Experience in shipping diagnostic and infectious samples, with Dangerous Goods certification being highly desirable.
  • Time Management Skills: Strong ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving abilities to address issues as they arise.
  • PC Proficiency & Teamwork: Strong computer skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
