About the role
-
Type pathology/medical reports (macroscopic and microscopic) at a speed of 60 words per minute, handling 60 to 80 cases daily.

Manage data within Laboratory Information Systems and assist with preparation for clinic-pathological and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Coordinate the request, return, and tracking of blocks and slides, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate data entry for outside referrals and research.

Handle telephone inquiries, schedule bookings for frozen sections and fine needle aspiration biopsies, and assist with administrative tasks such as invoicing, filing, and maintaining reference materials.

Provide support to Anatomical Pathologists and other administrative staff with general office duties, including taking meeting minutes and managing documentation.
About you

Strong Typing and Administrative Skills: Demonstrated competency in medical typing (at least 60 words per minute) and proficiency in general administrative tasks, with a keen attention to detail.

Advanced Computer Skills: High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and data entry systems, with the ability to efficiently manage and organize information.

Organisational and Time Management: Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet strict deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent Communication and Customer Service: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, handle inquiries professionally, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Team-Oriented and Flexible: A proven team player who is adaptable, motivated, and able to work well within a collaborative environment, following protocols and maintaining a flexible approach to changing priorities.
