The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Westmead Medical Oncology Department is an academic, multi-disciplinary team of specialists who are experts in treating and supporting patients with cancer. The Medical Oncology Department provides chemotherapy and intravenous cancer treatments facilities across the Western Sydney at Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Westmead and the Blacktown Cancer and Haematology Centre.
Our services are delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of specialist that is supported by the latest clinical research. Our Medical Oncology Clinical Trial teams facilitates access to the latest cutting-edge medical technology and cancer treatments.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District.
This is for a Fixed Term period of 10 March 2025 to 15 May 2026.
Selection Criteria
· Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist State Award.
· Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
· Sound clinical knowledge in the field of medical oncology, with a proven background in GU cancers in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
· Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty. Have sound clinical knowledge in the field of medical oncology, particularly GU oncology.
· Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty.
· Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including:
o Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
o High level interpersonal and communication skills.
o Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
o Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
o Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
o Track record of productive collaboration with researchers from the basic or clinical science fields
· Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.
· Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by:
o Systems thinking and risk-taking aptitude.
o commitment to self -care and personal development.
o Capacity to maintain personal integrity, tolerate stress and demonstrate resilience.
o Commitment to building relationships, leading, and developing others.
o Results and outcome focused.
· Commitment to good governance, achieving results and managing risks.
· Demonstrated commitment to Education, Training and Research, as applicable to the position.
