Selection Criteria

  1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.

  2. Have sound clinical knowledge and skills in Radiation Oncology as demonstrated through RANZCR training requirements and through high quality clinical service provision in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.

  3. Demonstrate skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:
    - High level interpersonal and communication skills
    - Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
    - Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities
    - Application of evidence-based approach to  practice
    - Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.

  4. Undertake clinical duties at least 60% of employed time.

  5. Be prepared to provide clinical duties at both Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals according to the needs of the Radiation Oncology service.

  6. Have familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic and/or applied and/or clinical research within the Department (see dot point 2).

  7. Undertake a formal clinical re-design, quality improvement project or research project. Presentation at a hospital level or manuscript submission for peer review publication is expected in the first year.
