Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The successful candidate will ensure patient billing is maintained following policies and procedures to meet patient generated revenue potential. This includes ensuring all outpatient clinic activities are recorded accurately and completely to meet Activity Based Funding requirements. The incumbent will aim to provide a high level of professional support to the Head of Department and other Clinicians.

What you will bring to the role:
- Demonstrated extensive experience in a clinic setting including setting up new outpatient services, waitlist management, billing practices and clinic workflow management.
- Demonstrated advanced customer service experience for a broad range of clients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to compose quality correspondence, documents, and reports in a professional and timely manner.
- Demonstrated advanced interpersonal skills and experience including staff management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills with experience working in a fast-paced environment with a high workload.
- Sound knowledge of hospital funding models including ABF, Medicare billing, private patient billing and trust fund reimbursements.
- Demonstrated ability to implement change management processes through effective communication and negotiation with the multidisciplinary team to assist with the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Extensive experience in medical transcription typing with a minimum speed of 50 wpm and 99% accuracy. Advanced competency in medical terminology for producing clinical correspondence.
