What you'll be doing:
The Administration Assistant role within the Paediatric Diabetes Clinic is essential to the efficient operation of the Paediatric Service.

The role encompasses a full understanding of iPM processes and general outpatient clinic operations. Working in conjunction with other Admin positions associated with Diabetes Services the Paediatric position will seek to foster a co-operative relationship between the services. 

You role as the Administration Assistant role supports the clinic operations by thorough attention to detail in the processing of patient enquiries, bookings and a friendly reception presence when patients attend the clinic. The Administration Assistant will at times be working individually but be expected to participate as a team member when required.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).

 

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

 

 

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. Demonstrated high level of understanding and practical skills using iPM or other patient administration system
  2. Previous experience working in a hospital or outpatient environment
  3. Experience using office software including Excel and Microsoft Word
  4. Demonstrated well-developed written and oral communication skills
  5. Completed Medical Terminology course or equivalent experience
  6. Willingness to work with challenging children, families and carers
  7. Flexibility to adjust working times and days
