We are seeking a passionate and experienced mental health professional to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at the Eastern Suburbs Older Persons Mental Health Service, based at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick. This team provides specialised mental health services to people aged 65 and over, and Aboriginal people aged 50+, if appropriate for their needs.
Key responsibilities of this position include delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to aged care residents and partnering with community service providers. The role requires extensive specialised knowledge in older persons’ mental health, and a commitment to NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies and standards.

Selection Criteria:
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award Current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA including at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation ; Recognised 4 year degree in Psychology, along with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and minimum of 8 years experience post full registration.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in mental health or aged care
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, education and support to others in providing service excellence.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Demonstrated active participation in developing, implementing, and reporting on services.
- Current drivers licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
