About the role:

The Manager, Data Governance and Policy is responsible for providing expert advice and the development of policy, procedures and frameworks on data governance and privacy matters that will ensure NSW Health complies with policy, statutory and legislative requirements while optimising the use of data.
Health Manager level 5, starting salary from $166,678 – $186,448 plus Super, with a 40-hour work week.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive the development and enable implementation of data-related policies, frameworks, and guidance materials.
- Support NSW Health system adoption of the frameworks and policies in line with organisational priorities.
- Lead, implement and monitor data governance structures and models that meet statutory and legislative requirements.
- Develop and provide leadership in the provision of expert advice in matters relating to data governance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Convene and contribute to high level advisory committees and /or reference groups and participate in state and national officer committees as an advocate for NSW Health.
About you:
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in formulating and leading data governance frameworks, strategic priorities, policy, and compliance functions in a large and complex service environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of the workings of government processes and systems, including applying relevant NSW legislation as well as an understanding of the complexities within health service delivery, and NSW government policy.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal, in preparing complex reports, briefs, external correspondence, policies and procedures and a proven ability to liaise, negotiate, consult and influence senior stakeholders at the senior executive and board level.
- Demonstrated achievement in successfully leading teams – managing and coaching teams; building capability; meeting performance goals; and always fostering and maintaining a customer focused work culture.
