Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.
To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

- Perform any examination or procedure as required as directed by the Occupational Therapy Manager or their delegate.
- Ensure the optimum level of patient care is achieved and that all examinations are performed with the highest degree of professionalism, expertise and care.
- Participate in formal or informal review with regard to work techniques and standards at the discretion of the Occupational Therapy Manager or their delegate.
- Maintain a high level of commitment to and participation in Continuing Professional Development programs accredited by AHPRA.
- Actively assist with the supervision of Occupational Therapy Students.
- Participate in all areas of assessment and treatment relevant to level of training and experience.
- Ensure the Occupational Therapy Department is maintained in a tidy condition so as to respect its clinical environment.

- Qualifications in Occupational Therapy with current registration by the Occupational Therapy Registration Board and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
- Evidence of sound knowledge in Primary Health Care Models with experience working in acute care, community and/or paediatric Occupational Therapy.
