Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Pain Management team is seeking to engage Clinical Psychologists to join their unit. The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for the provision of high quality, evidence-based psychology services to individuals and groups in the context of the pain management service. The incumbent will conduct comprehensive assessments of patients referred to the Pain Service and advising on appropriate management as part of the chronic pain service.
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and engages in quality improvement and research to improve patient care and patient-related outcomes. Hours per week is negotiable for the successful applicant. Apply Today!

What you will bring to the role:
- Theoretical knowledge of pain theories and the relationship between psychological factors and chronic pain.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct a comprehensive psychological assessment and deliver individual and group therapeutic and educational interventions to people with mental health conditions.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of psychological interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy.
- Experience working with people living with chronic pain
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes, identify and manage problems in relation to group dynamics and to promote and support team-based solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in quality improvement and participate in the research process.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
