This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks' notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours. Therefore, there are no claims to permanency.

Are you ready to drive innovation and efficiency in pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management?  Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to head our Pharmacy Procurement and Inventory team.

About the Opportunity

As the Manager, you will oversee all aspects of pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management within our pharmacy department. You will lead the way in optimising financial performance, managing risks, and maintaining compliance with legislative and policy frameworks. Your leadership will directly impact patient care by ensuring timely, accurate, and reliable medication supply across the district.

In this role you will –

Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize procurement and inventory accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Lead negotiations and utilise market analysis and forecasting to drive cost savings and financial performance.
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, financial controls, and health service policies to minimize risk.
Foster strong partnerships with internal teams and external suppliers to support collaboration and shared objectives.
Mentor and lead a high-performing team while supporting pharmacy leadership in advancing service quality and medication use.

About You

You are a registered practicing pharmacist with AHPRA, backed by post-registration clinical, management, or leadership qualifications - or you bring equivalent skills and experience to the role.
You bring advanced expertise in managing stock control and inventory operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
You are a strong, experienced leader with a proven track record of managing diverse teams, driving performance, and fostering collaboration.
Your excellent communication, negotiation, and delegation skills enable you to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You have a solid history of setting, monitoring, and achieving operational, financial, and performance goals with data-driven decision-making.
You are highly skilled in data analysis, forecasting, and IT systems, using insights and initiative to continuously improve processes and deliver high-quality results.
