About the Opportunity
An excellent opportunity exists to join the Speech Pathology Department within the Adult Clinical Team at Liverpool Hospital.  You will be working in a busy hospital environment providing swallowing and communication services. The role is rotational with great opportunities for upskilling and further developing your clinical knowledge and skills in a supportive work environment.

The right person will enjoy working in a busy and fast paced environment and have clinical experience working in a hospital setting.  Liverpool Hospital is a tertiary hospital  and you will be committed to working across a variety of specialist areas and a 7 day roster as required.

What You'll be Doing
To provide a high quality speech pathology service to patients/clients and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting. The speech pathologist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation.   1. Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer
  2. Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment and management in paediatrics and/or adult caseloads.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with instrumental swallowing assessments (VFSS &/or FEES).
  4. Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
  6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
