Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) is a short-term intensive home-based early discharge rehabilitation program. It aims to achieve rehabilitation goals using a range of therapies that allows the patient to receive this service in their home, or phone consultation, or via virtual care. The program is seeking to engage an experienced qualified Occupational Therapist who will assist in the development and provision of the highest quality RITH Occupational Therapy services to patients of the district.
This position is responsible for the clinical workload as well as service development, planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on Occupational Therapy services. What you will bring to the role
- Qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
- Demonstrated postgraduate clinical experience in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services for clients with complex rehabilitation needs, designing and implementing client centred therapy plans and managing complex client care.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage complex or novel situations with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with consumers, teams and agencies with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice to service managers on clinical service development, practice, and redesign in relation to Occupational Therapy in chronic and complex community clinical settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and demonstrated knowledge of & experience with Quality Improvement & Evidence Based Practice.
