An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Nepean Occupational Therapy team. The successful incumbent will serve as the Senior Occupational Therapist that provides clinical governance, leadership, and expertise within the acute medical wards. The position is also responsible for the complex clinical management as well as supervision of staff. Our Occupational Therapy team ensures the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centred care for all of our patients and their families.

What you will bring to the role:
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Professionals (State) Award, current registration with AHPRA and commitment to own ongoing professional development.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience and specialisation in acute or sub-acute care.
- Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team and to apply advanced clinical reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that includes extensive experience in completing formal reports and liaising, educating and collaborating with patients, stakeholders and other agencies.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in the supervision, education and performance management of staff, students and allied health assistants.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and support others in continuous quality improvement strategies.
- Current Driver’s license and willingness to use it for work purposes.
