What you'll be doing
The Enhanced Care & Safety Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides leadership and expertise in improving care for patients with neurological impairments across WSLHD. The role focuses on reducing aggression and other adverse outcomes, such as falls and infections, through collaboration and strategic initiatives.
- Leading improvement initiatives to reduce aggression, falls, and infections in patients with neurological impairments.
- Collaborating with facility CNCs and safety leads to monitor and evaluate care outcomes.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for de-escalation strategies and staff training.
- Supporting the implementation of service improvements and education.
- Building strategic relationships with stakeholders to drive evidence-based initiatives.
How to Apply
Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Approved nursing and midwifery postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the Local Health District.
- Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife Division 1 with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Selection Criteria:
- Minimum seven (7) years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least five (5) years’ full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Established experience in the development and implementation, including the review of policy, procedures, and education programs.
- Highly developed communication, coaching and facilitation skills with a proven ability to work independently and develop/maintain professional relationships and networks across multiple disciplines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilise information technology within a health care setting.
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated skill in the analysis of clinical practice and the implementation of new clinical practices, including the ability to monitor and evaluate outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead nursing research or large quality projects across multiple services which requirement large stakeholder engagement.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence, class C and ability to travel within WSLHD.
