Looking for an experienced pharmacist to work within the Clinical Trials Pharmacy at Royal North Shore Hospital. The Clinical Trials Pharmacy at Royal North Shore Hospital is a growing service, currently supporting >199 clinical trials. The service has an experienced track record of attracting, initiating, and completing academically valuable research and trials from phase 1-3 that are both investigator initiated and collaborative commercially sponsored trials. A large proportion of trials are conducted in Medical Oncology and Haematology so a Clinical Trials Pharmacist with experience in Cancer Care and/or aseptic preparation is an asset.

Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital – Royal North Shore is a principal tertiary referral hospital for Northern Sydney Local Health District providing a comprehensive range of complex services to patients from across NSW. It has a strong and proud history in education, research and provision of high quality clinical care. RNSH provides specialty services including major trauma, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, neonatal intensive care, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology alongside acute medical, surgical, mental health, paediatric, cancer and maternity services.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Trials Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Clinical Trials Pharmacy at Royal North Shore Hospital. They work with the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Manager to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of clinical trials medication, drug accountability and storage, clinical trial protocol review, randomisation of treatments, patient education and participation in relevant committees as required. They assist in ensuring a high standard of service is always provided to clinical trials patients accessing medication from the department.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

    1. Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
    2. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
    3. Proven ability to work independently and to establish effective collaborative working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
    4. Demonstrated relevant clinical pharmacy experience (including experience in clinical trials and/or Oncology/Haematology) in a busy hospital environment.
