What you'll be doing
Primary roles include but are not limited to:
- Reception duties - to receive patients and answer phone calls, assist clinical staff with triage of calls
- Type and mail letters or reports, scan and file documents, distribute mail and files
- Assist more senior staff including counsellors, doctors and other administrative staff with clinic coordination
- Enter and analyse data in clinical and administrative databases
- Reception / administrative skills and experience in handling diverse medical, para-medical and public enquiries.
- Proven organisational skills, ability to show initiative and prioritise workload and ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
- Experience with outpatient clinic bookings or clinic co-ordination and Medicare billing.
- Excellent telephone manner and oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (eg. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of patient confidentiality.
- Audio-transcription experience with a typing speed of at least 60wpm and qualification in medical terminology (or working towards). Sound knowledge of English grammar as is relevant for correspondence.
- Data entry, knowledge and skill in database maintenance.
