Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Our Division of Surgery is seeking to engage an Administration Support Officer. The successful incumbent will provide efficient secretarial service to members of the Nepean Surgical Division. This includes responsibility for rosters, data reports, VMoney, and HealthRoster. The role will also ensure all revenue and billing for Surgical inpatient and outpatient consultations is undertaken.

Key administrative duties will include word processing, desktop publishing, data entry, spreadsheets, photocopying, facsimiles, writing and circulating minutes and agendas. The provision of recruitment administrative support is also covered through organising interview panels, monitoring ATFs and appointments, and organising as requested by the Heads of Departments or Surgery & Anesthesia (S&A) Exec staff.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Experience in a clerical/administrative role including accurate minute taking, Dictaphone, transcription and high-level proficiency in spelling and grammar.
  2. Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; possess proven organization skills; require minimal supervision; ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  3. Experience extracting and reporting information from Hospital databases and patient administration systems.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft word, excel and data entry skills.
  5. Recent experience with electronic document management (preferably Content Manager) as well as electronic recruitment processing.
  6. Excellent telephone, customer service and communication skills.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of EEO, WH&S and confidentiality principles.
