Where you’ll be working
You will be working with the System Monitoring and Insights (SMI) team within the Health System Support Group (HSSG) and based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065. HSSG is a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation to provide services to support the public health system in implementing Government targets and programs.
The SMI team is responsible for the collection and analysis of data and information that informs the evaluation of key strategic bodies of work including but not limited to - NSW Integrated Care Strategy; Regional Health; Brighter Beginnings: Social Impact Investment Strategy and the Primary Care Data Linkage.
What you will do
- Share accurate and timely analysis outputs within the unit and with external and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to efforts to develop, improve and implement data preparation pipelines for linked health-related datasets.
- Share data preparation and analysis code in a revision control system (git) for peer input and review, and likewise provide input and review for code written by other team members.
- Support research projects aimed at developing new methods for operationalising, monitoring and evaluating activities and assessing the validity and reliability of health datasets.
- Support preparation of high-quality written advice in the form of reports, briefs, policy, discussion papers, circulars and presentations.
Health Manager level 2, starting salary from $109,857 to $129,624, plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:
- Relevant health analytics/biostatistical experience with appropriate tertiary qualifications.
- Sound knowledge of health-related data collections and a good understanding of the NSW and Australian Health Systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using statistical analysis software packages, preferably R and SAS. Experience in SQL would be an advantage.
- Strong communications skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse group of co-workers and stakeholders.
- The ability to take initiative, to work independently and ask clarifying questions.
- Good organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
