Quinquennial Visiting Medical Officer(s) (7 positions)
Department of Anaesthetics
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Head District (WSLHD). The position will be located at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals within the Department of Anaesthesia. Successful applicants should be fully trained anaesthetists. Subspecialty training and an appropriately recognised extended skill base may be favoured.
Applicants expecting to be awarded their fellowship within 6 months will be considered. If successful, the applicant may not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.
Selection Criteria
Please outline how you satisfy the selection criteria listed below. In addressing the selection criteria, include any relevant skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience:
1. Must possess a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (or equivalent) or be eligible for a FANZCA within the next 6 months. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must have a commitment to providing on-call services to the BMDH Anaesthetic Department.
2. Please outline any additional qualifications, skills and/or experience pertaining to this position.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
4. Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership.
5. Demonstrated commitment to Education, Training and Research, as applicable to the position.
