Remuneration: $37.03 - $52.83 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

We are a department of approximately 50 clinicians with varied skillsets and knowledge working with acute and rehabilitation patients in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We are a cohesive team ensuring clinicians at all levels are involved in department development and decision-making processes to better the department and services we provide for our patients. For example, all OTs are involved in department portfolios and quality projects.

Supervision is a priority within our department, and we will establish the appropriate supervisory supports you require to reach your personal and professional goals.

Professional development is strongly encouraged in the OT department both internally and externally to the organisation. Our well-established education portfolio offers a range of presentations/in-services throughout the year, tailored to meet the learning needs and interests of our clinicians.

What you'll be doing

This is a temporary full-time position within our department working as part of the inpatient team providing early rehabilitation to patients across all acute clinical wards. This position will also engage in the level 1/ 2 rotation program due to commence in September 2025.

Essential Criteria:

• Registration: AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW 

Selection Criteria:

1. Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy recognised by AAOT-NSW and eligible for membership to AAOT-NSW and eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Demonstrated clinical experience in an acute care and rehabilitation setting including experience in discharge planning, home assessment, home modifications and equipment prescription.
3. Extensive experience with patients in neurosurgical, general surgical and medical units.
4. Skills in planning, implementing and evaluating intervention programmes.
5. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills.
7. Commitment to ongoing education, professional development, quality improvement and research.
8. Current drivers licence.
