Selection Criteria
Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award, and must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an appropriate work visa.
Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: High level interpersonal and communication skills; Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team; Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice; and demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
Sound clinical knowledge in clinical trials, Endoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound and Gastroenterology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
Sound clinical knowledge in clinical research and clinical trials, including : (1) Management of electronic databases (e.g- FileMaker, RedCAP, MS Access); (2) Performing statistical analysis, including working with statistical software (e.g-SPSS, Stata, SAS); (3) Managing interactions with the Human Ethics Research Committee (HERC) - applications, amendments, reporting, etc.; and (4) Professional guidance of research support personal (research nurse, research students).
Proven experience in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) - including but not limited to selective biliary cannulation, selective pancreatic cannulation, treatment of common biliary pathologies such as choledocholithiasis, strictures, etc. (>100 procedures ), and proven experience in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) including assessment and sampling (FNA / FNB) of submucosal lesions of the GI tract and pancreatic lesions. (>100 procedures).
Proven experience with tertiary level colonic and oesophageal EMR and other forms of advanced endoscopic tissue resection.
Proven experience in capsule endoscopy reporting.
Working
