About the Opportunity

Come and join Fairfield Hospitals largest ward - Cardiac, Surgical, Stroke and be a part of an amazing team making a true difference in the community! 

We are seeking registered nurses who are looking to work in a supportive team and have a passion for positive patient outcomes. The role requires a friendly and flexible burse who can be dynamic in their approach to care whilst being open to learning about a diverse range of patients and their needs.

This ward has 8 Telemetry beds and 8 stoke beds with highly acute patients. This provides a rare opportunity for you to gain highly sought after skills in dealing this these presentations and providing experienced care. You will also be exposed to a diverse range of patients where you can build you foundational nursing skills to become a valuable member to any team.

Ward 1A has strong succession planning and with an on team educator, experienced NUM and dedicated nurses, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills through learning and development opportunities with supernumerary training. Being a smaller Facility, Fairfield Hospital offers progression which is not found at larger Hospitals and you will be able to work in a fast paced environment and become an integral member of the team.

What You'll be Doing

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. 


Where You'll Be Working

Fairfield hospital is located in one of NSW’s largest LGA’s and is a hub of diverse cultures, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds. This brings a range of experiences to hospital employees and provides varied learning and development experiences for all levels of Medical, Clinical, administrative and support roles.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
