What you'll be doing
The Nurse Practitioner provides person-centered care at an advanced nursing practice level incorporating diagnostic and treatment interventions using a high-level knowledge, skills and autonomy to achieve people focused quality care.
Selection Criteria
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) who is endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practioner by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Graduate Diploma in Forensice Medical Management of Adult Sexual Assault with the Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV) or equivalent, or willingness to complete.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge in the application of evidence based practice in implementing individualised person-centred care, diagnostic and treatment interventions at an advanced level, including violence, abuse and neglect presentations, with a commitment to quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability and confidence to apply extended practice competencies within a scope of practice that is autonomous and collaborative.
- Demonstrated ability to critically appraise and integrate relevant research findings in decision making about health care management and patient interventions.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage and collaborate with managers and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development, a commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, willingness to apply and share professional expertise as a resource person and mentor others within the field of practice.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted driver’s licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
