Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology to join our team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital!
We are looking for a Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology (OHMIS). The primary purpose of the role of Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology is to provide leadership and expertise in medical oncology regarding the use of the electronic medical record for clinical documentation and chemotherapy prescribing.
The clinician will be responsible for the development of new oncology electronic treatment protocols, the review and maintenance of existing protocols, oversight of dose variance and provide representation and expertise regarding the implementation of the SDPR (single digital patient record) project on behalf of the Sydney Local Health District.
In addition, the Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology will provide high quality consultative specialty services in Medical Oncology, including in support of clinicians on leave, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Medical Oncology Department and Concord Hospital as required.
The Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology will have demonstrated clinical experience in managing a broad range of solid-organ malignancies as part of their clinical role. They will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Medical Oncology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
