The Role
The Mechanical Technical Officer is part of the Clinical Engineering department which provides a high quality biomedical technical support service across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD).
The position is based in the mechanical workshop and supports the fabrication of aids for disabled people, modification to wheelchairs and Clinical Engineering department mechanical and fabrication support as required. The position focuses on rehabilitation engineering solutions in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and Industry Guidelines to deliver safe, effective, and reliable assistive and rehabilitation devices for patient care throughout SESLHD.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Biomedical or Mechanical or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in servicing and maintaining mechanical / electrical / pneumatic equipment.
- Demonstrated fitting, machining, and welding experience with superior fault-finding abilities.
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to liaise with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of industrial systems, processes, and automated equipment.
- Experience in the use of computers including Microsoft Office packages.
- Current NSW drivers licence and access to motor vehicle with willingness to travel and work from different locations in accordance with the position.
