An exciting opportunity exists to join the Nutrition & Dietetics Department at Sutherland Hospital as the Diet Office Coordinator.
What you'll be doing
This role is responsible for coordinating the daily operation and work allocation for Dietitian Assistants at The Sutherland Hospital; coordinating the administrative duties which support the clinical duties of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, and acting as a liaison between the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Nursing and Food Service Personnel in providing dietetic services to all inpatients

Where you'll be working
The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service is located in the Sutherland Shire ('the Shire'), approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in the suburb of Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital was established in 1958 and is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital. The hospital motto, from its inception, is "Endeavour to Serve".
We offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services to the residents of the Sutherland Shire. We have 375 inpatient beds and each year we care for more than 50,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 28,000 patients are admitted to our hospital.
Selection Criteria
- Nutrition Qualification including Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition Stream), relevant university nutrition qualification, OR equivalent experience as a Dietitian Assistant Supervisor in a health care facility
- Understanding of basic clinical nutrition practices and specialised nutrition products.
- Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks and meet deadlines, while managing competing work priorities and work flow within allocated resources.
- Proven computer and record keeping skills, high accuracy keyboard/data entry skills and experience with the Food Service ICT system CBORD.
- Demonstrated application of excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service and supervision skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a team while working effectively within the team, as well as ability to work independently
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workforce and human resources management including rostering systems, recruitment, grievance handling and performance management
