Registered Nurse – Rehabilitation Unit
Hornsby Hospital’s Rehabilitation ward provides safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised patient centred approach. You'll work closely with the multi-disciplinary team, fostering collaboration and learning from experts in different disciplines. Where you’ll be working
Our Rehabilitation Ward is a 24 bedded unit consisting of orthopaedic, neurological, vascular, and general rehabilitation. You will be working as part of a hardworking, dedicated, and friendly rehabilitation multi-disciplinary team.
What you’ll be doing
The registered nurse applicant will be working in a busy, fast paced ward environment, caring for adult patients with a wide range of presentations including:
- Orthopaedic patients after a joint replacement, fall or fracture.
- Neurological and stroke patients.
- Amputee patients.
- Patients requiring reconditioning after a medical or surgical admission.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
- A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
