Contract Type: Sessional
Duration: 1 July 2025 to the remainder of the Quinquennium to 30 June 2030
Purpose of the Position
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with Spinal Fellowship training or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist and/or overseas trained substantial specialist pathways. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship (FRACS) within 3 months may be considered.

- Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Neurosurgery with local or international spinal fellowship training.
- Recent experience in the clinical management and operative management of acute spinal cord injury
- Experience in complex spinal surgery including spinal deformity and scoliosis.
