About the Role
The Menopause Hub is part of the statewide program to increase access to menopause services. The model of care involves a multidisciplinary team of medical, allied health and nursing services. As a Menopause Hub the team will also be supporting 3 other Local Health Districts (LHD) to set up their services in the care of patients with complex/ severe symptoms of the menopause. The role will include outpatient care for perimenopausal women having troublesome musculoskeletal symptoms in addition to being part of the Professorial Rheumatology team providing general rheumatology on-call and in-patient service.
What you'll be doing
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 3 months may be considered
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
- Demonstrated relevant clinical practice at a high standard commensurate to experience in Rheumatology with demonstrable experience in management of women with health complaints related to the menopause and/or working in menopause clinics
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to participation in research projects relating to menopause
