Royal North Shore Community Health Centre, St Leonards and Ryde Community Mental Health Centre, Eastwood.


What you'll be doing

The Bilingual Mental Health Professional provides culturally competent mental health services to people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds (CALD) with a broad range of mental health issues.

The Bilingual Mental Health Professional will provide comprehensive culturally sensitive assessment and quality clinical intervention, facilitation of access to appropriate mainstream mental and general health clinical services, mental health education and promotion across the lifespan.

The position will carry a caseload and will provide consultation to other clinicians within North Shore Ryde Mental Health Service. This position does not replace the use of interpreters. 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:



 

1. Current AHPRA registration for relevant discipline - Psychology, Occupational Therapist, Registered
Nurse, Eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers.
2. High level verbal and written communication skills with fluency in Cantonese in addition to English.
3. Demonstrated experience and expertise in mental health assessment, intervention and education for CALD consumers.
4. High level understanding and experience in cross-cultural mental health issues.
5. Demonstrated commitment to strengths based practice and recovery focused care as well as consumer and carer participation and consultation.
6. Commitment to community development and community education.
7. Current NSW Drivers’ Licence.
