Acute Mental Health Clinician
An exciting opportunity exists for a clinician with a strong interest in and commitment to Mental Health to join the experienced and dedicated Acute Community Mental Health Team at Ryde Community Mental Health Centre.

Where you'll be working
Ryde Community Mental Health Centre, Eastwood
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The Ryde Acute Team model of care provides a combination of short-term and medium to longer-term support in the form of a multidisciplinary team approach to collaborative care.
This includes:
• Mental Health triage and assessments for consumers within the community experiencing acute mental health problems
Mental health assessments in Ryde ED after hours
• Short term mental health treatment in the community often as an alternative to hospital, including care coordination and longer-term case management as clinically indicated
• Collaborative care-planning for consumers transferring between hospital and community, follow up support and onward referrals where appropriate
• Brief therapeutic interventions such as BIC based on Project Air model for Personality Disorders
• Working in a multidisciplinary team across a 7-day rotating roster with morning and afternoon shifts.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
- Current AHPRA registration for relevant discipline - Psychology, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers.
- Demonstrated, comprehensive mental health assessment and crisis intervention experience.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in suicide risk assessment and management.
- Experience working in community mental health and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act.
- Extensive case management/care co-ordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Current NSW Driver's licence.
- Proficient in working with data systems and computer skills or/and knowledge of Microsoft Office Word software.
