The Royal North Shore Hospital Patient Flow Unit is seeking a suitably experienced Registered Nurse to join their team in the role of the Capacity Co-ordinator. This exciting opportunity offers a part time position, 12hrs per week, working across a 7 day week.

Where you'll be working
The Patient Flow Unit is located within Nursing and Midwifery Operations at Royal North Shore Hospital. The team includes the Patient Flow Manager, Bed Managers and Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
What you'll be doing
The Capacity Coordinator (CC) will be involved in the care coordination of patients requiring an in-patient bed within Royal North Shore Hospital. This position will use effective clinical, communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate and promote excellent patient flow within the organisation. The role provides a direct interface with the in-patient nursing, medical and allied health teams.
Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is a large and complex organisation with a high public profile within NSW providing a full range of clinical services. RNSH provides district, regional and state wide services. As a facility with a leadership role in health care there is a significant requirement for evidenced based practice and innovation. The Patient Flow Team will provide safe and effective patient flow using innovative practice in bed management.
The CC will work closely with the RNSH Bed Managers who are accountable for the effective and efficient care coordination of patients requiring an in-patient bed at RNSH. They will seek to balance the logistics of moving patients, taking into account current demand, predicted demand, booked demand, unexpected demand and other considerations including gender, multiple resistant organisms, specialty, acuity and preferences.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation (AHPRA). Post registration qualification in acute care nursing, and at least three years’ experience working in a relevant clinical area or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high level negotiation, conflict resolution skills and demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence based practice and practice development
- A comprehensive understanding of New South Wales Ministry of Health Key Performance Indicators including ETP and TOC.
- Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines with the ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, Patient Flow Portal, First Net and Cerner eMR.
