Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position (s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Surgery – Ears Nose and Throat (ENT).
Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship by the beginning of the 2025 Clinical Year will be considered. If successful, the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally obtained.
Successful applicants will be responsible for assessment, investigation, and appropriate care of patients in Nepean Hospital.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Selection Criteria
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) (Otolaryngology) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Public Hospital (Visiting Medical Officers Fee for Service Contracts)
3. Determination and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring / audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
4. Sound clinical knowledge in Otolaryngology -ENT Scope of Practice demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty
5. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards
7. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff
8. Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Otolaryngology ENT, advanced rhinology/skull base training and demonstrated by relevant qualifications and / or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience.
