Successful applicants will be working within a busy rehabilitation service. Nepean Hospital Rehabilitation Department provides specialized rehabilitation assessment and management to patients residing in the NBMLHD. The Service operates an acute consultation and referral service, in reach rehabilitation, 30 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, Rehabilitation in the Home and specialty outpatient clinics including rehabilitation, amputee, and orthotic and spasticity clinics.
The position is for a permanent 0.4 FTE position with an on-call roster. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Possess Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
3. Sound clinical knowledge in Rehabilitation Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
6. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
7. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
