Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
Are you highly organised, calm under pressure and ready to make a real difference at the front line of healthcare? Nepean Hospital is looking for a proactive Administration Officer to support the operations of our busy Emergency Department.
Within this position you will play a vital role in delivering timely and compassionate administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient care delivery. This will see you complete patient registration, answering phones and coordinating communications, managing records, data entry and confidentiality compliance. You will support clinical staff with timely documentation and admin support whilst handling enquiries with professionalism and empathy
You will be required to work a 24/7 rotating roster. Shifts will be a mix of morning, day, afternoon and night, covering all workstations within the Emergency Department.

What you will bring to the role
- Experience in a frontline customer service role and the ability to effectively use problem solving and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skills
- Willingness and ability to work a 24 hour rotating roster with flexibility and able to work additional shifts as requested
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy and demanding environment
- Ability to organise and set work priorities to meet department benchmarks and KPIs
- Understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
