About Us

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. 

Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction. 

The successful incumbent will support the work activities of nurses, medical staff and allied health staff, with locally determined shift times based on patient and ward/unit service delivery needs. This position will work closely with existing administrative staff such as ward clerks and Reception officer at the ward/unit level. The role will complement existing roles, systems and processes in each organisation.

What you will bring to the role 

  1. Proven extensive administrative experience and Willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent
  2. Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels
  3. Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  4. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  5. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment
