An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join the Drug and Alcohol Methadone Community Client Management Team. This position will provide evidence-based drug and alcohol services to patients accessing the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD Drug and Alcohol Service

What you will bring to the role 

  1. Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology, full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement or working towards endorsement as a clinical or forensic psychologist (as appropriate to postgraduate qualification).
  2. Demonstrated clinical experience in the provision of drug & alcohol assessments and evidence based interventions for alcohol and other drug using clients.
  3. Skills in development and management of research/quality projects including data analysis and program evaluation.
  4. High level of competence in the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based psychological, cognitive/behaviour management and counselling interventions for patients with substance abuse problems.
  5. An ability to liaise with a range of relevant agencies and departments of the Local Health District.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team in providing drug and alcohol services.
  7. Proven high quality computer literacy, clinical documentation and verbal communication skills.
  8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
