Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. A Permanent Part time opportunity is now available for an Administration Officer to join the NBMLHD Nepean Clinical School, located at Nepean Hospital. 

The successful candidate will provide effective and efficient customer service to patients and clients attending clinics, and will provide clerical support to clinical teams working in the Outpatients Departments.

Your role as the Administration Officer will see you carry out general reception, clerical duties, data entry and online Medicare billing using iPM/PBRC across all Outpatient Clinics as directed as well as attend to telephone and counter enquiries promptly and in a friendly manner following the Phone Etiquette guidelines.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Demonstrated experience in a clinic setting including reception duties, phone enquiries, appointment scheduling and data entry.
  2. Demonstrated effective customer service skills.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare eligibility and billing practices.
  6. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Demonstrated ability to learn new processes.
  8. Ability to be flexible and display initiative.
