The opportunity

 We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and organised project office to join our Patient Experience and System Purchasing Branch!

The project officer role will support the Executive Director’s team through a range of administrative and project management support for monitoring and evaluation activities including advice on the development and implementation of projects. Duties include project planning, negotiation with project stakeholders and reporting on project deliverables.


The Team

You will be working within the System Information and Analytics (SIA) Executive Director’s team. The team is a dynamic and fast pace environment dealing with Ministerial requests on a daily basis. The branch enables the Ministry of Health to be an effective health service purchaser and system manager through high quality data, analysis and performance reporting. The branch also ensures that NSW Health meets its state and national reporting obligations and maintains high standards of public accountability and transparency in the health system. 


What you'll be doing

Description of day to day work:

  • Manage and deliver of all aspects of project management including planning, identifying and coordinating resources, stakeholder consultation, developing budgets, identifying key milestone, negotiating reporting requirements and completion timeframes.
  • Undertake high level analysis of data and preparing high quality reports on project deliverables, milestones, performance.
  • Prepare high quality written advice in the form of briefs, policy, discussion papers or circulars to inform or respond to requests both internal and external to the Ministry.
  • Manage and coordinate stakeholder consultation, including preparing communication materials, liaising and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare meeting agenda, minutes and reports and support the project governance mechanisms.
  • Draft of capacity assessment criteria, methodology and reports as required.
  • Contribute to the broader management processes of SIA including budget development, program management, stakeholder engagement and business planning, and foster effective communication and information exchange in order to maximise the achievement of Government and NSW Health goals and needs.
  • Additional duties as delegated by the Principal Advisor.
