Principal Policy Officer, Aboriginal Maternal Child & Family Health Unit, Health and Social Policy Branch

Crown Clerk 11/12, salary from $145,378 - $168,130 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading).

What you'll be doing

  • This role will be responsible for leading:
  • Aboriginal maternity and child and family health initiatives, including those under Closing the Gap and Brighter Beginnings.
  • The role includes the strategic leadership of the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Services (AMIHS) and Building Strong Foundations (BSF) programs and Birthing on Country. 


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

  • This is an Identified role under the Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated relevant, professional and management experience in the area of health and social policy including experience in and/or strong understanding of Aboriginal maternal, child and family health and the NSW Government Closing the Gap initiatives and priority reform areas.
  • Significant experience in developing, analysing and evaluating policy and other projects in a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver on complex policy, program and project areas.

Outline how you worked collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to implement the program or policy. What was the outcome?
  2. Describe your leadership style and approach to working in an environment with competing priorities, high-urgency and pressures while maintaining high standards of work and timely responses. Provide an example of how you have done this.
