Role 1 – Policy Officer, National Policy Reform (Role until 31 December 2025)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer to join the National Policy Reform team which sits within the Policy and Funding Reform, and Intergovernmental Relations Unit. The unit is responsible for stewarding reform efforts with the Commonwealth and other States and Territories, developing innovative policy and system reforms, and securing funding for NSW.

The role will work in a small, fast-paced and collaborative team environment to prepare and coordinate complex advice

Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $113,574 - $125,720 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
As the Policy Officer in the National Policy Reform team, you will provide advice on key health reform items including the National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA), pharmaceutical reform, Federal Funding Agreements for national health initiatives, and digital health.

Role 2 - Policy Officer, National Health Secretariat (Role until 31 December 2025)
We have an exciting temporary opportunity for a Policy Officer to join the National Health Secretariat (NHS) team. This role provides pivotal support to the Chairs and members of the Health Ministers Meeting (HMM) and Health Chief Executive Forum (HCEF) to successfully progress national health priorities and reform.

The role will work in a small, fast-paced and collaborative team environment to prepare and coordinate complex advice. This opportunity provides rare insight into cross-jurisdictional executive level decision-making to drive national health outcomes. It will require some domestic travel to support in-person HMM and HCEF meetings.

What you'll be doing
The position is responsible for supporting the National Health Secretariat (NHS), which provides secretariat support for the Health Ministers Meeting (HMM) and Health Chief Executives Forum (HCEF). The NHS is currently hosted by NSW Health within its Government Relations, Strategy and Violence Prevention Branch.

In this role you will work with the Manager, NHS to:  

  • Coordinate high-level meetings and forums that influence national health policy.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across jurisdictions.
  • Deliver strategic advice, manage intergovernmental budgets, and ensure high-quality governance is maintained. 
  • Support the Chairs of HMM and HCEF in progressing national health initiatives.
