We are seeking a suitably experienced Dental Officer Level 3 to join our large Oral Health team on the Central Coast of NSW.
The purpose of this temporary role is for up to 12 months cover for the department.
If you are an enthusiastic and motivated dentist with a high level of knowledge, experience and clinical competency across the full scope of general dentistry in a complex clinical setting, this is an opportunity for you.
This is a clinical position with a full clinical load. There is no managerial or academic time allowance.
Applicants for the Level 3 positions must demonstrate having highly advanced clinical skills, the ability to exercise independent professional judgment, and the capacity to be the leader of the dental team. They must demonstrate capacity and past experience in providing mentoring, supervision, training and education for staff and students of the multidisciplinary oral health team.
These positions qualify for the Dental Officer Rural Incentive Scheme Allowance (up to $20k p.a.) in addition to Award Salary.

• Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
• Be registered and / or be able to be registered with the Dental Board of Australia as a dentist and with extensive clinical experience as a dentist in Australia or in a mutually recognised jurisdiction (UK, NZ and Éire).
• Proven highly advanced clinical skills and clinical reasoning abilities in managing most of the difficult clinical situations, complex medical histories, children and those with physical and mental disabilities.
• Demonstrate an earned recognition of their exceptional competence in general dental work and have a proven record for carrying out a broad range of advanced and complex dental procedures, as well as, ideally, be experienced in performing procedures under oral sedation, relative analgesia and general anaesthesia.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead a multidisciplinary clinical team, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, act as a mentor to other clinical staff, teach undergraduate students as well as assume responsibility for providing clinical supervision, advice and support to all dental practitioners within the team.
• Have a proven record of undertaking responsibility for components of clinical governance and peer review, and the provision of in-service clinical development education programs for staff and students.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, and developing and leading ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff, as well as conduct clinical research.
• Have a current Class C driver licence.
