About the role:

This newly created role will see you assist with technical activities within the emergency room (ED) to ensure timely diagnostics, in line with key performance indicators and under the direction and supervision of the ED Co-ordinator, CIN and/or delegate or senior medical officer on a shift-by-shift basis.

You will have the option to work 8–10 hour shifts, scheduled around the department's peak activity periods, with flexible arrangements available.

To aid your success in this role, you will be supported by a high performing leadership team and a Clinical Nurse Educator, who will deliver a structured and tailored professional development plan. Comprehensive training and orientation will be available, depending on your prior experience and skill set. Our ED has a large number of clinical nurse specialists with a vast knowledge set also able to assist you.

Manning Hospital is a Level 4 Rural Referral Hospital consisting of 180 beds with a variety of specialty clinical areas, including Critical Care, ED and Operating Theatres.

You will work within our busy ED, where we provide care for approximately 38,500 people each year, serving the local communities including Taree, Forster, Tuncurry, and surrounding districts. The ED is comprised of 13 beds and 2 resuscitation bays.

About You:

We are looking for someone with high level organisational and communication skills, who is able to effectively perform as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

You should have:

  • Experience in recording of electrocardiograms (ECG) or a willingness to learn.
  • Venepuncture and cannulation competency certificate, or a willingness to learn
  • Willingness to undertake training to achieve the dimensions of this role supported by the leadership team of the hospital.
