What you'll be doing
The Systems Administrator will ensure the provision of effective, and timely Information Management and Technology (IM&T) services within the Clinical Genetics department at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH), through provision of specialist genetics research information system and IM&T support. Clinical Genetics is a research-oriented department, and this position will support departmental scientific and technical computing needs to ensure the service is well-positioned to meet short and long-term information technology needs, in accordance with agreed strategies, timetables, costs, and resource allocations. The Systems Administrator will also apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to existing datasets, developing a pipeline for image annotation, analysis and application of AI tools to enhance departmental AI capabilities, specifically focusing on imaging of tumours in people with Neurofibromatosis (NF).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent industry experience and/or industry certifications.
- Demonstrated experience in AI, Large Language Models (LMMs), and Machine Learning, with a focus on applications used in medical imaging of Neurofibromas.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, JavaScript and/or other programming languages.
- Demonstrated experience with 3D modelling in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and LLM/NLP libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, Llama), specifically for image annotation and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in deploying AI models in analysis of neurofibroma imaging from medical imaging including whole body 3D imaging (WB360 3D Canfield).
- Proven ability to train and deploy AI on clusters of Graphic Processing Units (GPUs).
