About The Opportunity
Are you a passionate and experienced Speech Pathologist eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older persons within the community? We are seeking a dedicated professional who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment, works well both independently and collaboratively, and is keen to identify, develop, and implement service development projects. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to supervise Level 1-2 speech pathologists and students as needed.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on older adults transitioning from hospital to home, ensuring they receive the speech pathology support needed for a smooth recovery.
The position is responsible for leading, guiding and managing the delivery of speech pathology services to aged care clients on the Transitional Aged Care Program. As a senior clinician the speech pathologist is responsible for overseeing and providing an efficient and effective service through the application of clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of patients with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties in a community setting. They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development, liaising with other discipline seniors and other administrative responsibilities as required

- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience and skills in providing dysphagia and communication management (including aged care community populations).
- Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating quality improvement process.
- Demonstrated ability to both lead a team and work independently and provision of clinical supervision and training of staff. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
