- A bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), including the ability to demonstrate a practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrated extensive post-graduate experience working as a Social Worker in a health setting, including a demonstrated understanding of complex health conditions and the impact on patient well-being.
- Demonstrated advanced communication skills (both written and oral) and demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems.
- Excellent negotiation, complex decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and manage stressful situations; ability to work unsupervised and apply advanced reasoning skills and professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature across a team.
- Experience in the provision of supervision to social workers and/or social work students.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement and research activities.
