Selection Criteria

  1. Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist OR relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Counselling with eligibility to the respective Australian professional association.
  2. Post graduate experience providing high level specialist social work or psychology services to vulnerable children, young people and their families/carers with an understanding of relevant legislation and NSW Health policies, procedures and guidelines.
  3. Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to use independent professional judgement while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with interagency partners.
  5. Ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders to optimise outcomes for vulnerable children and their families/carers.
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care in keeping with AASW Code of Ethics or Aust. Psychology Board standards.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to and experience in providing professional development, quality improvement, clinical supervision and student supervision.
  8. Current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.

All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
