About this role

 

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for coordinating social media communications activities for the NSW Ministry of Health to inform the public and the NSW Health system of important health messages.

 

This role supports the Senior Social Media Officer and Manager, Social and Content by leading paid and organic social media campaigns, developing high quality and engaging social media content and contributing to other important communications activities for the NSW Ministry of Health and related organisations.

 

You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contributing to a world-class health system.

 

Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $110,266 - $122,058 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week)

What you'll be doing

 

  • Use your knowledge of social media and content to lead the development and execution of complex paid and organic social media campaigns and strategies

 

  • Act as lead for urgent and emergency communications activities and campaigns resulting from emerging issues

 

  • Develop high quality and engaging social media content for channels like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube

 

  • Proactively monitor and report on social media activity, through analytics and other monitoring tools, to improve campaigns and strategies

 

  • Identify new opportunities, technology and social media channels that will enhance campaigns and strategies

 

  • Undertaken community management and monitor social media channels to ensure critical and sensitive issues are raised with the Senior Social Media Officer and Manager, Social and Content

 

  • Take part in the team’s weekend and on call shift roster to support out of hours business needs

 

 

About you 

 

  • Social media or digital communication expert with proven experience leading complex paid and organic social media campaigns and strategies

 

  • Effective project manager who is comfortable collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve communication objectives

 

  • Skilled storyteller with proven experience creating and coordinating the development of engaging social media content for a range of channels and audiences

 

  • In-depth understanding of contemporary best practice in social media, communication trends and emerging digital technologies, including the use of analytics to inform social media content

 

  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends and public holidays and participation in the team shift roster
